  • Human Rights Day (10 December)

    "Stand up for someone's rights today!" was the theme for Human Rights Day 2016. Human Rights Day is observed every year on 10 December

  • World AIDS Day (1 December)

    In October 31, 2016 the Minister of Health, Hon. Sibongile Ndlela-Simelane, officially launched the World AIDS Campaign 2016 in Swaziland under the theme, "Hands up for #HIVprevention".

  • 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence (25 November – 10 December)

    The Kingdom's 2016 theme for 16 Days Campaign was "Let us support the Enactment of the Sexual offences and Domestic Violence Bill of 2015”

  • UNICEF celebrates 70th anniversary

    In November 17, 2016, UNICEF Swaziland held it's 70th anniversary celebration at Royal Swazi Sun Convention Centre where children from schools all over the country gathered to celebrate with goverment officials the United Nations family.

  • United Nations Day (24 October)

    UN Day marks the anniversary of the entry into force in 1945 of the UN Charter. With the ratification of this founding document by the majority of its signatories, including the five permanent members of the Security Council, the United Nations officially came into being.

  • International Youth Day (12 August)

    A Youth Parliament session held at Esibayeni Lodge in August 12, to commemorate the 2016 International Youth Day.

  • Day of the African Child (16 June)

    The 2016 Day of the African Child was commemorated in June 16, with activities taking place throughout the month of June.

  • World No Tobacco Day (31 May)

    World No Tobacco Day is commemorated on May 31. The theme for 2016 was: “Get Ready for Plain packaging.”

  • Africa Vaccination Week (24 – 30 April)

    Swaziland joined the rest of the African region in commemorating the 2016 African Vaccination Week (AVW), bringing 27 years of being Polio free on its cards.

  • World Health Day (7 April)

    The 2016 World Health Day was commemorated on April 7 which also make the birth of WHO. Established in 1950, this event has a theme each year to draw attention to a current world health issue. The Theme for World health Day 2016 was “Beat Diabetes”.

  • World Tuberculosis Day (24 March)

    On February 24, the country commemorated the 2016 World TB day and the theme for this year was: “UNITE TO END TB”. The event was held at Lugongolweni Inkhundla in the Lubombo region.

  • World Water Day (22 March)

    The small community of Siphofaneni convened three closely related sectors on the 21-22 March 2016 and joined the global community commemoration of the Forests, Water and Climate Change days.

  • International Women’s Day (8 March)

    Swaziland joined the rest of the world in commemorating International Women's Day 2016, under the theme “Planet 50-50 by 2030: Step It Up for Gender Equality”

  • World Cancer Day (4 February)

    The 2016 World Cancer Day was commemorated on the 4th of February at the Royal Villas. The event started with a breakfast meeting and later on a workshop on Tobacco.

  • UN 70th Anniversary Commemoration

    A night of celebration, poetry, music, history, taking stock and envisioning the future, was the spirit of the UN 70th Anniversary dinner, held on the 12th November 2015, to mark 70 years of the existence of the United Nations, which came into being on the 24th October 1945.
