International Women’s Day (8 March)

Swaziland joined the rest of the world in commemorating International Women's Day 2016, under the theme “Planet 50-50 by 2030: Step It Up for Gender Equality”

The theme was a call to action for the government, civil society, development partners, public and private sector institutions to join forces and reaffirm their commitment to “stepping up” efforts to close the gender gap in their respective contexts. The theme was created to emphasize that as the world aspires for Agenda 2030, women and girls should be an integral part of national, regional and global milestones.
